Dr Ng’ombe is a respected academic, publisher and entrepreneur in Malawi. He has made significant contributions to the development of education in Malawi, including the Malawi Institute of Journalism (MIJ) where he was Executive Director from 1997 to 2007.  He has authored several books for primary education and has several published works.  He has held various positions on the boards of state-owned enterprises apart from owning a business himself as a book distributor.
