Continental Asset Management increases support for ECAMA Annual Economic Conference with MWK 8.5 million Gold Sponsorship

Continental Asset Management (CAM) has reinforced its commitment to Malawi’s economic development agenda by sponsoring the upcoming Economics Association of Malawi (ECAMA) Annual Economic Conference at the Gold Sponsor level with a contribution of MWK 8.5 million.

The sponsorship marks an increase from the MWK 6 million contribution made during the previous year’s conference and demonstrates CAM’s continued support for platforms that promote informed economic discussions, policy engagement, and investment-driven growth.

The annual ECAMA Economic Conference is one of Malawi’s most respected economic forums, bringing together leaders from government, business, academia, development institutions, and the financial sector to discuss pressing economic issues and identify practical solutions for national development.

Speaking on behalf of Continental Asset Management, Head of Finance and Operations Watson Kanyenda said the company views the sponsorship as an investment in Malawi’s future: “Meaningful economic progress requires collaboration, innovation, and informed dialogue. Through our support of the ECAMA Conference, we are investing in a platform that encourages constructive engagement among stakeholders and helps shape policies and strategies for sustainable economic growth.”

As a leading asset manager, Continental Asset Management recognizes the critical role that economic stability, strong institutions, and investor confidence play in driving long-term prosperity. By supporting ECAMA, CAM seeks to contribute to conversations that encourage responsible investment, business growth, financial inclusion, and capital market development.

The increased sponsorship further reflects the company’s broader commitment to corporate citizenship and its belief that sustainable economic transformation is achieved when institutions work together toward common goals.

James Kenani, General Secretary of ECAMA, expressed gratitude to CAM for its continued partnership and increased support towards the conference. He noted that contributions from committed private sector partners such as CAM are critical in sustaining platforms that foster evidence-based policy dialogue and economic thought leadership. “We are grateful to Continental Asset Management for their unwavering support and partnership. Their investment in this conference demonstrates a shared commitment to advancing meaningful economic discussions and developing practical solutions that contribute to Malawi’s long-term growth and development,” said Kenani.

Continental Asset Management remains proud to support initiatives that create opportunities for knowledge exchange and partnership development, helping to advance Malawi’s economic aspirations.
